Meet our staff Dr Emilija Chouseas obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Belgrade, School of Dentistry in 2007. She moved to Sydney soon after, where she completed the Australian Dental Council Exam and started practicing as a General Dentist in Australia.

She is a member of Australian Dental Association and Australian Society of Periodontology and has been a dedicated Clinical Educator and Lecturer at the University of Sydney School of Dentistry since 2015. She teaches first to final year Doctor of Dental Medicine Program students, providing clinical and simulation supervision and assessments in the areas of Periodontics, Tooth Conservation, Tooth morphology and Fixed Prosthodontics.

Dr Emilija is passionate about evidence based patient-centred care and strives to be up to date with newest materials and techniques by attending various courses and seminars.

She practices all aspects of General dentistry with a special interest in restorative, preventive and children’s dentistry. As such, she has been involved in providing early educational presentations to preschool kids as she is an advocate of “Prevention is better than cure”.

When she is not teaching dental students or practicing dentistry, Dr Emilija loves spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys Latin dancing, nature, travelling, cooking new dishes and training budgies.
Dr Chris Coakley arrived to Sydney from Dublin, Ireland and has been part of Newtown Dental Care since February 2023.

Chris graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honour’s degree in 2019 and has been busy working in private practice since. In 2021, Chris became a fellow of the Dentistry Faculty of Royal College Surgeons Ireland (DipPCD & MFDRCS).

Chris thoroughly enjoys all aspects of dentistry from general restorative work (fillings, root canal treatments, extractions) to more cosmetic treatments (crowns, veneers, composite bonding). He has also recently completed a course in facial aesthetics so is happy to see patients for Botox, dermal filler and other associated treatments.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys the great weather & beaches of Sydney when he’s running or hiking. He is a keen sports fan and has adopted the Rabbitohs as his footy team since arriving.
Dr. Marouli Coroneos is an accomplished Sydney-based dentist with over 30 years of experience, holding a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Sydney University. She excels in patient communication and is a member of the Australian Dental Association, staying updated with the latest dental advancements.

Outside of dentistry, Marouli is a passionate and inventive home cook, known for her expertise in planning and preparing meals for family and friends. She is also an adventurous traveler, having completed the Camino Walk in Spain and trekked in Bhutan. Her culinary travels took her to Rajasthan, India, to explore local cuisine.

In her personal time, Marouli enjoys reading history and fiction, is skilled in home decorating, and has a love for gardening. She designed a Japanese rooftop garden with a waterfall and koi fish. Marouli is married with four children and is a devoted animal lover, sharing her home with a Tibetan Mastiff.
Karen is a long time inner west resident who cares about her patients and the community.

Karen likes to share dental information with her patients which allows them to make informed decisions leading to on-going better dental care.

When she isn’t watching her three sons playing sport, Karen enjoys reading and creative endeavours.
In 2011, he became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), which is the most prestigious professional qualification in general dentistry within this region.

Since 2004, following graduation from dental school, Iden has been practicing dentistry. He has worked both in public hospitals and private practice, while also having had the privilege of being a senior lecturer in dentistry. In 2017, Dr.Iden received the Appreciation Award from the University of Otago for being an exceptional supervisor.

From the fundamentals such as sound advice around daily oral hygiene to the complexities of oral surgery, Iden always ensures you are well informed with options that lead to premium care and outcomes that will make you smile. Consequently, Iden’s focus is on conservative and preventative dentistry, but he is adept in Invisalign, root canals and other treatments and surgeries that may require IV sedation.

Iden is currently doing his Dental Implant Diploma with Charles Sturt University.
